MOSCOW, Aug 22 Bulgaria may start broadcasting in early October Soviet-style armored vehicles to Ukraine after the parliament ratified the relevant agreement, the Ukrinform agency reports with reference to Bulgarian Defense Minister Todor Tagarev, who held a joint briefing with his Ukrainian counterpart Alexei Reznikov.
“Bulgaria will begin transferring Soviet-style armored vehicles to Ukraine in early October. The agreement on the transfer of about 100 units of equipment should be ratified by the Bulgarian parliament in September,” the agency reports.
As noted, Tagarev also said that Bulgaria supports Ukraine's accession to NATO under an accelerated procedure.
Russia has already sent a note to NATO countries over arms supplies to Ukraine. Lavrov noted that any cargo that contains weapons for Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia. The Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation stated that the NATO countries are «playing with fire» by supplying weapons to Ukraine. The Kremlin stated that pumping Ukraine with weapons from the West does not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have a negative effect. Lavrov also stressed that the United States and NATO are directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine, including not only the supply of weapons, but also the training of personnel in the UK, Germany, Italy and other countries.
