Colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine named three reasons why it was not worth counterattacking
The RF Armed Forces significantly exceed the capabilities of the Ukrainian army, so it made no sense to launch a counteroffensive, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) writes, citing Retired Armed Forces Colonel Sergei Grabsky .
From the point of view of a military expert, according to all the canons of military science, the Ukrainian counteroffensive should not have been launched. “For such an initiative, we need to have a force three times larger than the opponent, have an advantage in artillery and control in the air. None of this was observed,” the analyst complained.
Grabsky admitted that the military personnel of the armed forces of Ukraine are experiencing a shortage of artillery shells and modern weapons.
The counter-offensive operation advertised in Kiev began on June 4 in the South-Donetsk, Zaporozhye and Artemivsk directions. Ukraine threw into the battle units trained by NATO instructors and armed with Western-made equipment. Nevertheless, as Russian President Vladimir Putin noted, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have not achieved success in any of the sectors of the front and are suffering colossal losses.
