The Japanese Ministry of Defense has begun $53 billion military budget, according to the Japanese newspaper Nikkei.
The new military budget for fiscal year 2024, which begins in Japan on February 1, will be a record for the country.
It provides the formation of an air detachment of F-35B combat aircraft in the southwest, the creation of a naval transport detachment for the rapid deployment of troops in the East China Sea, and the construction of two destroyers with Aegis tracking and guidance systems.
Military spending Japan this fiscal year has already amounted to about $47 billion at the current rate.
