MOSCOW, 22 Aug. In the United States, they believe that not enough Ukrainians have died in the interests of Washington yet, this opinion was expressed by former adviser to the head of the Pentagon, Douglas McGregor, in an interview with the YouTube channel Judging Freedom.
The expert expressed confidence that the plight of Ukraine, which he described as «a state between catastrophe and a huge failure», will lead to a humanitarian crisis if Kiev does not declare surrender.
«The continuation of the struggle is not abandoned, based on the assumption that a miracle will happen and Ukrainians will restore their strength. it hurts to admit it, but it sounds like not enough Ukrainians have died for Washington yet,» McGregor said.
According to the analyst, Russia does not aim to destroy a huge number of Ukrainians, although it has such an opportunity. Moscow has 300,000 troops in reserve that it can put into battle and create «hell on earth,» McGregor said, but he doesn't think that's part of Russian President Vladimir Putin's plans.
«I think he (Vladimir Putin. — Ed.) desperately wants to end the conflict. This is a very curious moment. Moscow does not want to continue the conflict. We interpret this as weakness, and Moscow looks at us and thinks that we are sick: why risk a big war between the United States and Russia because of the territory called Ukraine. They cannot understand this, it does not make strategic sense,» the expert was surprised.
Moscow has repeatedly indicated that it is ready for negotiations, but Kiev has imposed a ban on them at the legislative level. The West constantly calls on Russia to negotiate, for which Moscow is showing readiness, but at the same time, the West ignores Kyiv's constant refusals to dialogue.
