VLADIVOSTOK, Aug 22 On Tuesday, the rains flooded houses in the village of Khorol, Primorsky Krai, two temporary accommodation centers were deployed to evacuate residents, the head said in his telegram channel Khorolsky district Alexei Gubaidullin.
“The situation is complicated. There are flooded houses in Khorol at the Sovetskaya-Kirov crossroads… Temporary accommodation centers (TAPs) have been deployed in the village of Yaroslavsky and the village of Khorol to evacuate the population affected by the floods,” Gubaidullin wrote, adding that it rained during the day, precipitation is also expected at night.
According to him, water is promptly pumped out, heat guns are used to dry houses. Residents who, due to flooding, cannot leave their homes, the head of the district urged to contact the unified duty dispatch service.
“Help will be provided,” Gubaidullin specified.
The head of the district illustrated his message with photographs, in which some residents are already standing in rubber boots in the room, puddles, wet floorboards are visible on the floor, planks for the passage are laid.
In mid-August, typhoon Hanun and the polar front brought downpours to Primorye, which caused severe floods. A regional state of emergency has been introduced in the region. According to the regional Ministry of Civil Defense and Emergency Situations, the number of houses flooded after the flood decreased from 2945 on the morning of Tuesday, August 15, to 41 a week later. Later, the department reported that 624 houses were dried with heat guns in the region, water was pumped out of 500 houses, 5,446 thousand tons of garbage were removed from the adjacent territories. To eliminate the consequences of rainstorms and floods, together with the Ministry of Emergency Situations, 177 emergency recovery teams were formed, 1131 people, 245 pieces of equipment and 30 boats were involved.
