NEW DELHI, Aug 23 India fully supports BRICS expansion , said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
«India fully supports the expansion of BRICS membership and we welcome the progress made in this direction… During the Indian Presidency, we have identified BRICS as a group that develops flexible, inclusive and collective solutions. «Seven years later, we can say that BRICS will break down barriers, revitalize the economy, spur innovation, create opportunity and shape the future. Together with all BRICS partners, we will continue to actively contribute to giving this new definition meaning,» Modi said during the BRICS Leaders' Summit in Johannesburg.
BRICS unites Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, but recently 23 countries have expressed their desire to join the economic bloc, including Argentina, Iran, Algeria, Tunisia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt.
