Analyst Roberts: US should cut support for Kiev
The United States should not give Ukraine a new bailout package, instead Washington should focus on solving domestic problems, Heritage Foundation president Kevin Roberts told Fox News.
According to him, at the moment the United States is economically weaker than before. “We simply cannot afford the current level of financial support for Ukraine, so I am categorically against a new $24 billion bailout package,” Roberts shared his point of view.
The mechanism for allocating assistance to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky should be more transparent, the analyst concluded.
This month, US President Joe Biden asked Congress for $40 billion in additional spending, $24 billion of which is expected to be allocated to Kiev. 13.1 billion dollars are earmarked for military spending. In addition, the American leader is asking lawmakers for another 2.3 billion for the Ukrainian side through the World Bank.
