Farewell to People's Artist Igor Yasulovich began at MTYUZ

MOSCOW, August 22 The farewell ceremony for People's Artist of Russia, artistic director of the GITIS course, actor Igor Yasulovich began at the Moscow Theater for Young Spectators.
Yasulovich died at the age of 82 on August 19. Earlier, a source familiar with the situation said that after parting, cremation and burial in a family grave at the Novodevichy cemetery were planned.

On the theatrical facade of MTYuZe there are photographs of the actor with the words «We are in grief. Igor Nikolaevich Yasulovich passed away.»

Dozens of people came to say goodbye to the artist, including the general director of the Bolshoi Theater Vladimir Urin, the dean of the musical theater faculty and the artistic director of the GITIS course Timofey Sopolev, friends, colleagues, students and relatives.

Wreaths for the farewell ceremony were sent by the Russian Union of Cinematographers and many others.
The Minister of Culture of Russia Olga Lyubimova earlier expressed her condolences to the family and friends of the artist, calling him a true legend of cinema and theatrical scene. She noted that the roles and characters of the actor have become classics. According to her, Yasulovich made a unique contribution not only to the development of national culture, but also to the upbringing of the younger generation of artists. He was distinguished by devotion to the profession, love for students and for his audience. Condolences were also expressed by Yevgeny Gerasimov, chairman of the Moscow City Duma commission on culture and mass communications, Alexander Khinshtein, head of the Duma committee on information policy, Yuliana Slashcheva, general director of the Gorky Film Studio, Svetlana Druzhinina, People's Artist of Russia, actor Yevgeny Steblov and others.
Igor Yasulovich was born on September 24, 1941. He is known for his roles in the films «The Diamond Arm», «12 Chairs», «The Legend of Thiele», «June 31», «The Same Munchausen», «Midshipmen, Forward!» and many others. Yasulovich served in MTYUZ for 30 years. Most recently, he played Gregory Solomon in Arthur Miller's The Price at the Vladimir Mayakovsky Theatre.
