ROSTOV-ON-DON, Aug 23 Investigators have opened a criminal case against the director of an entertainment complex in Astrakhan, where a four-year-old child drowned, reports the SUSK of Russia for Astrakhan areas.
“A criminal case has been initiated against the director of the entertainment complex, suspected of committing a crime under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (providing services that do not meet safety requirements),” the report says.
According to investigators, on August 22, a four-year-old boy drowned in a pool on the territory of an entertainment complex on Nikolai Ostrovsky Street in Astrakhan. The boy rolled down the slide into a pool that was larger than his height and was unable to swim out on his own.
“The suspect did not provide a prompt response to the incident on the water and violated the requirements of the state standard, according to which the water attraction must be under the constant supervision of the instructor assigned to it while it is open to visitors,” the regional UK noted.
