MOSCOW, August 24 Forest fire services in Russia extinguished 27 natural fires in a day, Avialesookhrana reports.
«According to the information of the regional forestry dispatching services, over the past day on August 23, 2023, in 15 regions of Russia, forest fire services and involved persons extinguished 27 forest fires on an area covered by fire, 1,957 hectares,» the report says.
By midnight on August 24, there were 27 forest fires in the country on an area of 22,302 hectares, which were actively extinguished.
The largest area of fires was recorded in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) — there are 10 fires on an area of 20,627 hectares.
