Olympic champion Russian figure skater Anna Shcherbakova these days plays one of the main roles in Tatiana Navka's show «Sleeping Beauty», which takes place in Sochi from June 20 to September 30. Before the next performance, the athlete talked to the correspondent about her image, a recent trip to China and plans for the future.
— Anna, how are you feeling? How did Sochi receive you?
— The mood is chic, the shows are held at the highest level. But still, I’m here for work, so I don’t do much activity before performances. All morning and all day I am saving up energy to participate in the show.
— Yes, my sisters came to me, and one day they managed to get out together to Sochi Park, which, of course, I'm glad about. I love such entertainment very much — slides, for example. But after such a pastime, to be honest, it is difficult to collect yourself for the show. I don't have daily trips to the amusement park. br>- Yes, I also jumped with a parachute.
— No, only one was a little exciting. I love attractions, so I endure them calmly.
— Back to the show. You perform in Sochi in two productions at once — in «Scheherazade's Love Story» you play a goddess, and in «Sleeping Beauty» — Leia. Which image is closer to you?
— I just really like that there is an opportunity to embody different roles. This is where my interest lies. You don't have to be the same all the time. I won’t say that any of the images is closer to me, but, as far as I know, the audience likes Leia more in my performance. I like both roles because they are different. If in «Scheherazade» the image of the goddess is more majestic, powerful, strong, then in «Sleeping Beauty» the light, open princess. Would you like to play a villain?
— As far as I remember, I didn't seem to have any negative images. Perhaps I would be interested in trying it. But it seems that they will still select positive images for me, they suit me more organically.
— In your Telegram channel, you said that you were in a hurry from one show to another and tied your skates 30 seconds before going on the ice. Is it hard to live in such a schedule? And what would happen if you were late for your exit?
— There were several such days, but one of them turned out to be the most extreme change of sites. Usually there are a few minutes left, but we were a little delayed on the road, we managed to quite back to back. In any case, the organization here is at the highest level, so such situations would definitely be resolved. So far, there has never been such a thing as being late. On the first day, such a schedule was a little difficult, but then I adapted. It’s even cool that you have to change the place of performance and the character of the character in such a short time. This only adds to the drive of the show.

— You recently visited China. How was the trip?- To say that I was delighted — to say nothing. It's hard to find words to describe my experience. I felt like a rock star on tour. She didn't even realize the reality of what was happening. I was so impressed by everything from the very first seconds, starting from the meeting at the airport, where an incredible number of fans arrived. And so it went every day. And after the performance, they threw some incredible amount of toys on the ice, I experienced this for the first time. When I was standing in the center, and thousands of toys were flying from all sides, even tears welled up in my eyes from an overabundance of emotions.
— Have you encountered something like this in Russia?
— What is the fate of these thousands of toys?
— Some were taken with them, and some were donated to charity in China. I must say that the local fans not only arranged great surprises for me, but after the performance they also helped organize the delivery of toys home. Alena Kostornaya and Gosha Marten. Did you catch the bride's bouquet?
— This is the second wedding I've attended as a guest and both were this summer. Both times I participated in catching the bouquet, but I tried to stand behind everyone, hiding behind the others.
— Why?< /strong>
— Until I have a goal to catch him. I have to take part, it's a cool tradition, but at the moment I'm not torn in the front rows.
— Do you already have thoughts about what you could do if not figure skating? Maybe try yourself on television or in music, like Sasha Trusova?
— Probably, this is one of the main questions that I have been thinking about for the last year. I try to try myself in different roles, to develop. I already had experience as a TV presenter, I also hosted a sports award. There are many interesting ways of development, but I have not yet found something definite that I will definitely do in the future. the main role in the show «Sleeping Beauty» will be played by Olympic champion, world and European champion Alina Zagitova.
