MOSCOW, Aug 24 Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told the President of the Central African Republic, Faustin Arcange Touadéra, of his intention to continue helping Bangui in matters of security, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the XV BRICS summit in Johannesburg. The parties expressed their readiness to continue effective support for Bangui's efforts to ensure peace and security in the country, both on a bilateral basis and as a permanent member of the UN Security Council,» the statement said.
In addition, The parties discussed priority areas for the further development of Russian-Central African relations and reaffirmed the intention of Moscow and Bangui to deepen political dialogue and expand mutually beneficial cooperation in the trade, economic, investment and humanitarian fields.
