MINSK, Aug 26 President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said in his congratulations to Bashar al-Assad that Minsk is ready to support Syria at the stage of post-conflict construction.
According to the press service of the head of the Belarusian state, Lukashenko said this while congratulating the President of the Syrian Arab Republic Bashar al-Assad on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Belarusian-Syrian diplomatic relations.
“Belarus has always remained close to Syria, extended a helping hand in the years of hard times. I assure you of our readiness to continue to support the fraternal Syrian people at the stage of post-conflict construction,” the press service quoted the congratulations.
Lukashenko also noted that over the past 30 years Belarusian-Syrian relations have been developing dynamically on the basis of friendship and trust, top-level visits have been exchanged, embassies have been opened in Minsk and Damascus, an intergovernmental commission has been established, cooperation has been established in the areas of trade, education, culture and sports.
“Our states will successfully cope with the new challenges of our time and we will continue fruitfully interacting both in a bilateral format and on international platforms,” the Belarusian President stressed.
Earlier, the Belarusian authorities declared the interest of the country and its enterprises to take part in the process of post-war reconstruction of Syria.
