WASHINGTON, Aug 25 The US Federal Reserve is ready to continue raising interest rates as it believes domestic inflation is still too high , Jerome Powell, head of the financial regulator, said Friday.
«Over the past year, we have significantly tightened our policy. Although inflation has moved away from its peak, which is a welcome development, it remains too high. We are ready to further increase the interest rate if necessary, and intend to maintain a restrictive policy until we are confident that inflation is steadily declining in line with our targets,» Powell said during a symposium in Wyoming.
