The expert ruled out the version of the error in the calculations of the movement of the fallen «Luna-25»

MOSCOW, August 27 Several organizations were simultaneously involved in calculating the movement of the Luna-25 station, which crashed on the surface of the Earth's satellite, their calculations coincided «digit by digit», there could be no mistake, the presenter said researcher at the Space Research Institute (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences Natan Eismont.

"The tradition has been observed since Soviet times, such responsible calculations are made by several organizations at once. They matched everything digitally. There was no mistake here,” Eismont said.

The Soyuz 2.1b rocket with the first domestic lunar station in almost 50 years was launched from the Vostochny Cosmodrome at 02.11 Moscow time on August 11. On August 16, the spacecraft entered lunar orbit. On August 19, a transition to a pre-landing orbit was expected, and a soft landing at the South Pole of the Moon was expected on August 21.

Roskosmos reported on August 19 that an emergency situation had occurred on board the station, which prevented the transition to a pre-landing orbit with the specified parameters. The next day, the state corporation reported that Luna-25 had entered an off-design orbit, collided with the Moon, and ceased to exist.

Experts considered several versions of the accident, including an error in the calculation of the station's movement. Later, the head of Roskosmos, Yuri Borisov, named the cause of the emergency — the Luna-25 engine, when trying to go into a pre-drop orbit, worked for 127 seconds instead of 84, and the device «crashed» into the Earth's satellite.
