MOSCOW, August 28, Andrey Senchenko. Head of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) Alexei Morozov told reporters that the organization and the National Hockey League (NHL) are interested in signing documents on mutual respect for contracts.
The Memorandum of Understanding between the NHL and the KHL has been in effect since 2010 and has been regularly renewed. In March 2022, the NHL suspended this memorandum, but the parties continue to respect each other's contracts.
“The NHL refused to sign documents on mutual respect of contracts with the KHL a year ago. So far, nothing has changed. Both parties should be interested in this. But so far everything is oral,” Morozov said.
