Convicted in the case of drunken hitting a minor, the transport prosecutor of Vorkuta Alexei Abramov left the colony for the war in Ukraine and stopped paying compensation to the injured Stepan Sonin. This is reported by the support group of the young man.
The mother of the victim, Tatyana, sued the prosecutor and obtained from him compensation for the treatment of her son in the amount of 825,579 rubles, as well as monthly payments in the amount of 25 thousand rubles from February 2022 to April 2023.
By signing a contract with the Ministry of Defense, Abramov exercised the right that allows him to stop paying compensation for the duration of his service. Due to the financial problems of Stepan's family, volunteers collect money for the treatment of the young man.

In August 2021, the sentence was mitigated by sending the prosecutor to a settlement colony.
According to the prosecution, in September 2020, Abramov knocked down Sonin at a pedestrian crossing, who turned 18 two months later. «North. Realii wrote that 0.6 ppm of alcohol was found in Abramov's blood — this is a mild degree of intoxication. The prosecutor tried to dispute this, insisting that the traffic police officers gave him a faulty breathalyzer.
The doctors diagnosed the injured Stepan Sonin with a fracture of two bones of the skull and a brain contusion of moderate severity. In March 2021, the young man was given a first-degree disability for a period of two years. Now he is undergoing expensive rehabilitation courses.
