The Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Bakhchisarai region of Crimea opened a criminal case against a local resident who desecrated a monument to participants in the war in Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea.
The man is charged with vandalism motivated by political hatred (Part 2 of Article 214 of the Criminal Code).
On the evening of August 25, Krymsky SMERSH published a video, the author of which approaches a light installation with the letters Z and V, and with the words “there is such a monument here, it’s full of shit” begins to urinate in his direction. According to the Telegram channel, this is happening in Bakhchisaray, and the man's name is Alexander Tyurenko. His actions were also caught on the city's video surveillance camera. According to Beware the News, Tyurenko was detained the next day, August 26.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Crimea published a video with an apology from a Bakhchisaray citizen, in which he says that he “was wrong” and “did not give an account of his actions while intoxicated.” The man adds that he “supports the special military operation and President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.” In a fuller version of the video, published on the Crimean SMERSH telegram channel, at the end, the sound of turning pages is heard, after which Tyurenko reads the first verse and chorus of the Russian anthem.
According to the police, the man pleaded guilty and wrote a confession. The Bakhchisaray District Court of Crimea sent him to a pre-trial detention center.
