WASHINGTON Aug 29 US Navy evacuates ships and planes from Florida in anticipation of Hurricane Idalia, the Navy Times reported.
The hurricane, which is assigned the third category of five, should reach the Florida coast of the Gulf of Mexico on Wednesday night.
The withdrawal of ships, according to the publication, began on Monday and continues on Tuesday.
Aircraft remaining in Florida are being transferred to hangars, and ships are being moored in view of the approaching bad weather.
Because of the hurricane in the state, a partial evacuation of the population has been announced.
