MOSCOW, August 30About 300 events were included in the program of the 36th Moscow International Book Fair, which will open on Wednesday at Expocentre. Within five days, Muscovites and guests of the city will be able to attend presentations of literary works and communicate with writers.

«We have more than 300 participants, about 300 events at eight venues. Most of the events will be available online,» announced Sergey Kaykin, director of the MIFF.
At the fair, you can find fiction, children's and educational literature, non-fiction and comics at publishing prices. A record number of applications were submitted for participation, more than 40 publishers were represented.
Fair guests will also meet with writers Leah Arden, Mikhail Elizarov, Asya Lavrinovich, Alexandra Marinina, Russian Presidential Aide Vladimir Medinsky, President of the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics Irina Viner, art critic Zelfira Tregulova, psychologists Mikhail Labkovsky and Tatyana Muzhitskaya.

“With the onset of the pandemic, fiction took the lead and occupied about half of the commercial literature market. Now we see that the reader’s interest is returning to psychologists, to books on self-development,” said the curator of the program “Fiction/Non-fiction” MIFF Ekaterina Kozhanova.
Special attention will be paid to the topic of a special military operation and new front-line poetry. The publishing house «Veche» will present the «Warriors of Russia» and «Library of Donbass» series, and «Eksmo» will present the collection «Poetry of the Russian Summer» edited by RT.

There will be an exhibition of top publications for children, which can serve as a navigator for visitors to the fair. For the first time there will be a big program dedicated to book illustration, because a children's book is impossible without it,» said Maria Vedenyapina, director of the Russian State Children's Library, curator of the MIBF program.
Belarus will be the guest of honor of the MIBF, participants from Iran are expected and China.
