MOSCOW, August 30 Agroholding «Komos Group» (trademarks «Selo Zelenoye», «Milk River») from January to August 2023 increased the supply of dairy products for export to 2.7 times, up to almost 3,000 tons, said Kirill Chechin, executive director of Komos Group LLC.
“In eight months of 2021, we shipped about 900 tons outside the Russian Federation, in the same period of 2022 — 1,100 tons, this year we shipped almost 3,000 tons in eight months,” Chechin said during the conference “Measures to increase the competitiveness of Russian exporters of products APC».
Approximately half of the supplied products were raw materials, the rest — goods under the company's brands. «Our export target is 6,000 tons of dairy products,» Chechin said.
Commenting on state support measures that could support domestic agricultural exports, he noted that they are necessary for products with high food dependence, such as fermented milk products and ice cream. With regard to logistics, it would be useful for the supplier to be able to choose the measures and the share of compensation of transport costs on their own, and a network of hubs throughout the country could provide fast and cheap logistics.
Chechin also drew attention to the complexity of deliveries to African countries — the company has plans for contracts with the countries of the continent, but it is not yet clear how to receive payments for its products. “It is not clear how to take the money: SWIFT does not work, the zone itself is not ruble or yuan. I think it would be right if Russia would lead this story by organizing, perhaps, its own company, which would buy our products in Africa and distributed, making calculations with us. We will not be able to go the way on our own,» the head of the company said.
