Test voting launched for voters from 21 regions

MOSCOW, Aug 30 Testing remote electronic voting started on August 30 for voters from 21 regions, where online voting will take place within three days, and on August 31 three more regions will join them, said Ella Pamfilova, head of the Russian Central Election Commission.
“Today at 8:00 am local time, taking into account the fact that we have a DEG (remote electronic voting) in five time zones, test voting started on the DEG portal. Test voting for voters from 24 regions who filed application for voting on the federal platform,» Pamfilova said at the meeting.
According to her, on August 30 and 31, 21 regions will test the DEG system, «that is, these are the subjects where online voting will last three days in the elections in September.» And on August 31 in the morning, three more regions will join the training: Sverdlovsk, Tomsk, Chelyabinsk regions, since online voting in the elections there will last one or two days.

Earlier it was reported that the Central Election Commission of Russia approved the holding of the DEG on a single voting day in 24 regions of the Russian Federation on the federal platform, in 18 of them for the first time, and in Moscow on its own digital platform.

Elections in Russia will be held on a single voting day on September 10, 2023. The Central Election Commission reported that elections of senior officials in 21 constituent entities of the Russian Federation and additional elections of State Duma deputies for four vacant seats in single-mandate constituencies are planned in the EDG. Elections are scheduled in the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
