A citizen of Uzbekistan was detained in Kaliningrad for kidnapping a teenager

St. Petersburg, August 31. A citizen of Uzbekistan was detained in the Kaliningrad region on suspicion of kidnapping an underage girl, the press service of the SUSK RF for the region reported.
“The Guryev Interdistrict Investigation Department of the Regional Investigation Department initiated a criminal case against a 22-year-old citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan on suspicion of committing a crime under clauses “c, d, e” of part 2 of article 126 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (abduction of a knowingly minor using weapons and violence dangerous to life or health),» the message reads.

As the investigation established, on the evening of August 29 in Komsomolsk, Kaliningrad region, a 22-year-old man, threatening a teenage girl with a knife, dragged her to his home. After keeping the 16-year-old victim in his room for several hours, he put her in a car and took her to the airport. According to the Investigative Committee, the man planned to take the girl to one of the republics of Central Asia.
«The victim managed to gain the confidence of the kidnapper and asked to go to the ladies' room, where she asked an unfamiliar woman to call her mother and report the incident, who immediately contacted the police and reported the whereabouts of the kidnapped daughter,» the report says.
The man was detained in the waiting room, the girl was taken to the hospital.

The investigation intends to apply to the court with a motion to select a measure of restraint for the suspect in the form of detention.
