The Ust-Labinsky District Court of the Krasnodar Territory sent a native of the Irkutsk Region to a pre-trial detention center, who is accused of splashing a chemical liquid in the girl's face, because of which she received burns. This is reported by the joint press service of the courts of the region.
The man is charged with an article on the intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm with particular cruelty, mockery or torment for the victim (point «b» of part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code).
As specified in the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, on the morning of August 30, a man splashed acid in the face of his former 21-year-old lover. The local publication Ust-Labinsk Info writes that Anastasia P. from the village of Ladozhskaya was attacked at work in Ust-Labinsk. She told the doctors that she went to the police because of threats from the Irkutsk citizen, but they did not respond to her statements, the newspaper reports.
As a result, the girl received chemical burns to her face, hands and eyes — first she was taken to the intensive care unit of the central district hospital. According to local journalists, the victim received burns to 30% of her body, to a greater extent — her head, and also lost her sight.
The security forces believe that a native of the Irkutsk region attacked the girl because of jealousy. According to police, the man had previously been convicted several times.
