MOSCOW, Aug 31The introduction of updated rules for gas supplies to the domestic market of the Russian Federation has been postponed again — at least to September 1, 2024 from September 1, 2023, follows from a government decree published on the official portal of legal information.
«On Amendments to Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of November 1, 2021 No. 1901 «On Approving the Rules for Gas Supply»… The words «from September 1, 2023» shall be replaced by the words «from September 1, 2024», —
Earlier, from the draft government decree published in July, it followed that the introduction of new rules could be postponed to March 2024.
The reason for the postponement in the draft of the relevant resolution published by the Ministry of Energy was the lack of norms on schedules for switching consumers to alternative fuels, as well as on schedules for partial or complete restriction of gas supply to consumers in the event of a disruption in the operation of the gas transmission system in case of an accident.
This is not the first postponement: the rules approved on November 1, 2021 were supposed to come into force on September 1, 2022, but then the start of action was postponed until March 1, 2023. They are designed to change the rules of 1998 and are updated as part of the «regulatory guillotine».
