MOSCOW, August 30 People's Artist of the RSFSR, director Gleb Panfilov was buried at the Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow, a correspondent reports.
Panfilov died at the age of 90 on August 26. The director was buried next to his wife, People's Artist of the USSR Inna Churikova.
Director of the Lenkom Theater Mark Varshaver, People's Artist of Russia, Deputy of the Moscow City Duma for Culture and Mass Communications Yevgeny Gerasimov, General Director of the Mosfilm Cinema Concern, film director Karen Shakhnazarov and director Sergei Miroshnichenko, People's Artist of Russia Liya Akhedzhakova, head of the Alexander Charitable Foundation came to say goodbye to Panfilov Solzhenitsyn, Solzhenitsyn's widow Natalia Solzhenitsyna, Soviet film critic and film critic Naum Kleiman, TV presenter Daria Zlatopolskaya, friends, colleagues and relatives of the director.
Wreaths for the funeral of Gleb Panfilov were sent by Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Russian Ministry of Culture, artists of the Lenkom Theater, artists of the Yevgeny Vakhtangov Theater, the staff of the Maly Theater, the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, the Moscow City Duma, the Mosfilm film concern, Anton and Daria Zlatopolsky, friends, family Solzhenitsyn, colleagues and relatives of the director and many others.
After Panfilov's death, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences, noting that he belonged to a galaxy of outstanding directors of our time, whose names are the pride of the national culture.

Gleb Panfilov was born on May 21, 1934 in Magnitogorsk. In 1966, he began working at Lenfilm, where he filmed his feature debut «There is no ford in the fire» (received the main prize at the Locarno Film Festival). Panfilov also shot the pictures «I ask for words», «Theme», «Valentina», «Vassa», «Mother» and others, staged performances at Lenkom and the Theater of Nations. In 1970, he made the film «The Beginning» with Inna Churikova in the title role, during the filming they got married and lived together for more than 50 years. People's Artist of the USSR Churikova died on January 14, 2023 in Moscow after a long illness. -0-
