KEMEROVO, September 1 Kuzbass plans to develop the infrastructure of rail container transportation, the press service of the regional government reports, citing Governor Sergei Tsivilev.
«The government of Kuzbass plans to develop a terminal infrastructure for handling containers in the region. The relevant projects, including the construction of a transport and logistics center, were discussed by the heads of relevant ministries and departments with Sergey Shishkarev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Delo Group of Companies,» the report says.
«The construction of a transport and logistics center will be a significant factor in improving the logistics of railway container transportation in Kuzbass. In addition, new jobs will be created thanks to the implementation of the project,» the press service of Sergei Tsivilev quotes.
It is noted that the development of terminal infrastructure meets the objectives of increasing the efficiency of logistics, balancing import-export flows and meeting the demand for container transportation both within the region and at the range of the West Siberian Railway. Currently, the Ministry of Transport of Kuzbass is developing a roadmap to prepare the conditions for launching such projects.
«Kuzbass is an important cargo-generating region that has a high potential for containerization and can become a major transshipment point for transporting imports from the Far East. Delo Group, for its part, is interested in developing container logistics in the country and optimizing the use of railway capacities in conditions of a shortage of carrying capacity,» the words of Sergei Shishkarev are quoted in the message.
As part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2023, Delo Group of Companies and a delegation from Kuzbass signed a cooperation agreement that provides for joint work to increase the competitiveness of rail container transportation, as well as the level of containerization of goods in the region.
