MOSCOW, Sep 3 Russia's sacred duty, just like 80 years ago, to resolutely rebuff and defeat those who are ready to lead humanity to a global catastrophe, said Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Head of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, at events in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk on the occasion of the Day of Victory over militaristic Japan and the end of World War II, celebrated on September 3 .

Those who want to dominate the world have raised their heads again, just like then in the twentieth century, who are ready to lead humanity to a global catastrophe. Like 80 years ago, our sacred duty is to give them the most resolutely rebuff and win,» Medvedev said.
Deputy Chairman of the Security Council added that the Day of Victory over militaristic Japan and the end of World War II is indeed a turning point in history and a special memorable date. He noted that the Russians feel an inseparable connection with the heroes who rid the world of fascism, opened the way for the peoples of many countries to free and creative development, to prosperity and well-being.
