Typhoon «Hanun» and the polar front on August 10-12 brought heavy rains to the region. On the morning of August 12, the Razdolnaya River flooded Ussuriysk in Primorye and broke through the dam. The prosecutor's office reported that after the damage to the dam, the evacuation of the residents of the first floors of nearby houses began, to the windows of which the water began to reach.
“There is a dam, only it was destroyed and water passed through it. But someone designed it, and now they say that it was designed for other marks. Maybe for other marks. But in the dam there is a lock-regulator, which should have a year ago to be brought into working condition, but it was not brought into working condition. And this is one of the reasons for the destruction of the dam,» the plenipotentiary noted.
In mid-August, Typhoon Hanun and the polar front brought downpours to Primorye, which caused severe floods that flooded thousands of houses and many roads. Also, the region was seriously affected by heavy rainfall on August 23 and 25. Since August 25, a federal emergency regime has been in effect in Primorye. Then the head of Primorye, Oleg Kozhemyako, estimated the preliminary damage from the flood at 7 billion rubles. After that, the southern cyclone on August 29 again brought showers to Primorye, again cut off dozens of settlements, the south of the region suffered the most.
