MOSCOW, September 3 Russia more than doubled its purchases of pharmaceutical products from Brazil in seven months, including vaccines, blood and pills, renewing the historical maximum, follows from the analysis of data from the Brazilian Statistical Service.
Thus, in January-July, the volume of purchases in money amounted to $3.8 million compared to $1.7 million in 2022, in physical terms, the figure almost equaled the maximum recorded in 2010.
Nikolai Bespalov, development director of the analytical company RNC Pharma, said that the supply of finished drugs from Brazil to Russia has really increased significantly. So, according to him, the dynamics was almost completely provided by the insulins of the Novo-Nordisk company, which are localized in this country.
“We are talking about drugs: Fiasp, Protafan and Actrapid. Several types of pharmaceutical substances are also imported from Brazil, but they have been declining this year and, in general, we are talking about very small volumes,” expert added. He also noted that these are common drugs and they have quite a few analogues, with the exception of «Fiasp», since it has a more advanced form than «substitutions».
In addition, purchases of oral and dental hygiene products, including fixing powders and pastes, as well as essential oils and scented blends, also increased significantly.
