MOSCOW, Sep 5 Russian economic growth in 2023 is closer to the upper forecast limit of 1.5-2.5%, Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia said Alexey Zabotkin.
«Current statistics, as in the case of inflation, show that growth for the year is closer to the upper limit of the forecast,» he said on the sidelines of the Digital Finance: New Economic Reality forum.
According to the Ministry of Economic Development, Russia's GDP grew by 5.3% in annual terms in June. The Russian economic authorities have raised their economic growth forecast more than once this year. So, in July, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation raised expectations from 0.5-2% to 1.5-2.5%. The Ministry of Economic Development predicts that Russia's GDP growth in 2023 will be 1.2%. At the same time, in early August, the head of the Ministry of Economic Development, Maxim Reshetnikov, said that the Russian economy would definitely grow by more than 2% by the end of the year.
