MOSCOW, 4 Sep. The films «Barbie» and «Oppenheimer» do not contradict the provisions on spiritual and moral values, Anton Gorelkin, deputy head of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, said in his Telegram channel.
Earlier, Deputy Minister of Culture Andrei Malyshev, in response to a request from State Duma Vice Speaker Vladislav Davankov, noted that the Oppenheimer and Barbie films do not meet the challenges of preserving and strengthening traditional values.
«The attempt of the Ministry of Culture to weave in here «spiritual and moral values» causes nothing but surprise. The provisions of the official document on which the ministry refers to, none of these films, in my opinion, contradict,» wrote Gorelkin. He noted that he considers these films to be better than «many films to which the Ministry of Culture issued a distribution certificate this year.»
At the same time, Gorelkin also opposed compulsory licensing, as it «does more harm than good.» The deputy stressed that the Russian film industry shows a qualitative development.
«On the other hand, the Russian film and serial industry, against this background, shows a qualitative development. And if spiritual and moral values do not suffer, it will be very good,» he specified.
