A drone crashed into the wall of the Hermitage in St. Petersburg

Edition «Fontanka»  reports that the security service of the Hermitage in St. Petersburg discovered a quadcopter that crashed into the building. Subsequently, nothing dangerous was found, but the owner of the device never showed up.

Dmitry Khashchenko, a leading employee of the Hermitage security service, told the publication that the drone was discovered the day before by daily security during a routine patrol. He indicated that the quadcopter was checked, after which the security staff contacted the police, since drone flights are prohibited in St. Petersburg.

The publication's interlocutor noted that the owners of the quadcopter did not contact the Hermitage security, as is usually the case. He clarified that such incidents often happened when they were previously able to fly.

It is noted that no one stopped the device, and it itself crashed into a building and collapsed at the Soviet stairs, as evidenced by records from surveillance cameras. At its core, the drone turned out to be a “regular civilian quadcopter,” but Khashchenko emphasized that what happened was alarming given the ban on their launch. The publication added that the drone was seized by the police.
