Low carbon mobility and autonomous driving — one of the key areas of development of the CHANGAN company. Supplemented with the idea of “future aesthetics”, they formed the basis of AVATR cars, the first of which — premium electric crossover AVATR 11 — was presented to the public in 2022.
New with index “12” is it a fastback with a muscular, sweeping silhouette? writes the publication SPEEDME.RU. A delicately sloping roof, frameless doors, a retractable aerodynamic spoiler, and multi-spoke designer alloy wheels with a diameter of 21 inches — the entire appearance of the car indicates that it belongs to the AVATR family and at the same time clearly demonstrates the individuality of the model.
“AVATR 12 embodies incredible aesthetics in a futuristic vehicle design, instilling limitless possibilities and a sense of freedom in the hearts of users, as well as encouraging a desire to look into the future,” — comments the chief designer of the project, Nader Faghikhzadeh.
The AVATR 12's interior takes aesthetic inspiration from sculptural design and uses a futuristic style for the integrated dashboard. When creating the interior of the model, the minimalist design concept of Gentle Tech was used, reducing the number of physical buttons and retaining only the key keys with high practicality.
The intelligent fastback is equipped with an autonomous driving system that can independently accelerate, brake, maintain distance, avoid obstacles and avoid a possible collision. A wide range of advanced electronic systems provides the driver and passengers with the highest level of safety. In addition, the electric car is equipped with an adaptive air suspension that automatically adjusts to the type of road surface. The model can be either mono- or all-wheel drive. In the first case, the engine develops 313 hp. s., and torque is transmitted to the rear axle. In all-wheel drive, the fastback has an additional electric motor for the front axle. The twin-engine electric power plant has a total power of 578 hp. With. and develops 650 Nm of torque. With a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 94.5 kWh, the car is capable of covering a distance of up to 700 km, reaching speeds of up to 200 km/h.
IAA Mobility-2023 was chosen as a platform for the presentation of a new electric car not by chance : The international motor show in Germany, one of the five major automobile exhibitions in the world, moved from Frankfurt to Munich in 2021. And it is in Munich that one of the 5 international R&D centers of Changan Automobile is located, focused on the development of cars with alternative power plants (New Energy Vehicle).
The new electric car will be produced at the company’s plant in Chongqing — capital of the concern Changan Automobile.
