MOSCOW, September 8Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting in Sarov with young scientists from the local Russian Federal Nuclear Center, asked where to look for dark matter and what to do with it, and also promised the scientific staff to fix the special status of the Sarov branch of Moscow State University.
“»Where will we look for dark matter, in the Universe or somewhere closer? … We will find it, what will we do with it?» — the president asked one of the meeting participants, who spoke about his work in searching for dark matter and answered that its discovery will become a new mystery.
Putin also agreed to fulfill the request of scientists from the Russian Federal Nuclear Center and fix the special status of the Moscow State University branch in Sarov, in order not to follow standards, and to attract more teachers.
«»I agree. Let's do it, I don't see any problems. All these restrictions, of a standard nature, are related to financing, but when it comes to some unique institutions, like yours, of course, the general rule… should not apply at you. I understand,» Putin said.
One of the mysteries of the Universe, which the discovery can help solve, concerns dark matter — a mysterious substance that, according to calculations, should, together with dark energy, make up the majority of the composition of the Universe.
