The Smolninsky District Court of St. Petersburg sent Viktor Trukhin, director of the city Research Institute of Vaccines and Serums of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FSUE SPbNIIVS FMBA), to a pre-trial detention center. This was reported by the joint press service of the city courts.
The lawyers of the director of the research institute asked him to choose a preventive measure in the form of house arrest. “The defense noted that Trukhin is actively cooperating with the investigation and is ready to help understand the qualifications of his actions,” the court clarified.
Trukhin is accused of embezzlement or embezzlement of other people’s property, committed using his official position, in on an especially large scale (part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code). According to the investigation, he caused damage to the institute in the amount of 436,746,816 rubles.
Two days ago, a RIA Novosti source spoke about Trukhin’s disappearance in Moscow. According to a representative of the FMBA, he was fired on September 4 — following the results of an anti-corruption audit, during which violations were found in the conduct of financial and economic activities.
