St. Petersburg police detained queer blogger Hilmi Forks (Oleynik) after the mother of one of the fans who decided to take a photo with the blogger said that Forks told subscribers about changing their gender marker. A video with a blogger’s account of what happened was published by lawyer Konstantin Erokhin.
“I’m in St. Petersburg, at the police station. I was detained for taking pictures with my followers. They accuse me of telling them about changing gender — so that they change gender. I was detained literally an hour later at a bus stop, when my friend and I were about to go to the center. I'm completely shocked. One of this girl’s parents wrote a statement against me, showed me a photo and yelled that I molested her daughter,” says the blogger.
Forks was detained yesterday, they decided to keep him in the police station for 48 hours. “In general, detention for 48 hours according to 91 Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation is a bad sign. Usually this is followed by the initiation of a case…” wrote Erokhin. For two hours, lawyer Anton Merkushev was not allowed to see the detainee, demanding from him an agreement to provide legal assistance. According to Erokhin, they do this in order to have time to “finish off” material for excitement.”
In July, the blogger was arrested for 12 days due to a fight in a cafe of the “Tasty and period” chain. Forks was also detained on charges of distributing pornography (Article 242 of the Criminal Code) after a complaint from the head of the Safe Internet League, Ekaterina Mizulina, about the content in the blogger’s Telegam channel. He was given a recognizance not to leave the place.
Mizulina regularly dedicated posts on her Telegram channel Forks, which became famous due to fights in public places, and his streamer friend Dasha Koreika, who filmed videos about her transgender transition. In July, Mizulina was outraged by the police refusal to prosecute Hilmi. At the beginning of 2023, protocols were already drawn up against both of them for “LGBT propaganda” based on a complaint from deputy Yana Lantratova. Forks then left the country.
