
DONETSK, September 11 Ukrainian troops fired seven NATO-caliber cluster shells in the Kuibyshevsky district of Donetsk and Makeevka in ten minutes, the DPR representative office in the Joint Center reported on the Telegram channel for control and coordination of issues related to war crimes of Ukraine (JCCC).
«Shelling from the armed formations of Ukraine was recorded in the direction: 10:50 — the settlement of Galitsynivka — the city of Donetsk (Kuibyshevsky district): four shells of 155 mm caliber (cassette) were fired; 11:00 — the settlement of Semenovka — the settlement of Makeyevka (Chervonogvardeysky district ): three 155 mm caliber (cassette) shells were fired,” the report says.
In addition, from 09:25 to 10:45, Ukrainian troops fired a total of 15 more 155-millimeter shells into the Kuybyshevsky and Kievsky districts of Donetsk, as well as into the Yasinovatsky district.
Kuibyshevsky district is located in the west of Donetsk.
Makeevka is a satellite city of Donetsk, adjacent to it from the northeast. In 2014, the population of Makeyevka numbered about 350 thousand people. Chervonogvardeisky district is located in the western part of the city.
155 mm artillery is used by NATO countries. The United States supplied Ukraine with long-range howitzers M777 of 155 mm caliber, Ukrainian troops are actively using them to shell the cities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. Also, the Ukrainian troops were supplied with German PzH 2000 self-propelled artillery mounts, Polish Krab self-propelled guns and French CAESAR self-propelled guns using shells of this caliber.
