Africa calls on BRICS to create its own currency

VLADIVOSTOK, September 11 The BRICS countries need to develop their own currency for trade within the bloc, said Percy Morapedi Koji, co-founder and vice-president of the African Economic Leadership Council.
«We need a new currency that will benefit our own terms. It's time to do things the way we want them. We need to be able to choose who we want to trade with,» Koji said on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum.
According to Koji, the new currency will help strengthen trade ties within the BRICS.

“According to statistics, we will surpass the G20 by 2030,” he added.
