MOSCOW, September 12. The coach of Russian figure skater Alina Gorbacheva, Sofya Fedchenko, told what she was most afraid of after the athlete disappeared.
On August 28, the figure skater left the Chkalov Arena skating rink in Moscow and went towards the Vladimir Church, after which she did not return home. The next day, law enforcement officers carried out a search operation involving rescue boats and divers. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case. That same evening, 16-year-old Gorbacheva was found in a cinema in one of the shopping centers in Moscow. Later, the athlete asked for forgiveness and stated that her action was not related to figure skating, although a number of Telegram channels reported about a quarrel with the coach.
“»Were you afraid that suicide could happen? God forbid! No, there were no such thoughts. «We were afraid of crime, there's a construction site nearby, there are a lot of migrants, there are often homeless people on the beach. Well, in general it was scary, I didn't expect such behavior from her and didn't understand what she planned to do next,» Fedchenko told Sport24.
Po According to the coach, she “didn’t feel better” even when a video appeared in which the figure skater was sitting in a cafe.
“
"I felt better when we met and hugged. I completely let go when Alina told me the next morning about the motive for her action,” she noted.
