VLADIVOSTOK, September 12 Cars of the Russian brand Aurus will become cheaper when their mass production begins, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
“»We will increase localization, yes, it takes time, but it is correct from the point of view of the development of the automotive industry in the country on its own basis… They made Aurus. They did it. Yes, it costs (expensive — ed.) because they produce little. It will go into production for real, and everything will be twice as cheap,” Putin said at the plenary session of the EEF.
The President also added that the development of the domestic automotive industry takes time, but this will allow manufacturers to acquire new competencies and create jobs.
“»Yes, this takes time, but it will be our own development, this is the acquisition of competencies, the restoration of these competencies, these are taxes within the country, these are jobs… But at the same time, we intend to cooperate with those who want to work with us «, Putin said.
