Last spring, Nissan surprised the public by presenting another Pathfinder crossover at the Shanghai Motor Show: it was a concept with a completely different design, foreshadowing a model developed specifically for China. Then spy photos of test prototypes began to appear on the Internet. Well, now the serial alternative Pathfinder has been almost completely declassified, its photographs and characteristics have been added to the database of the Ministry of Industry of the People's Republic of China. Let us remind you that the production of such an SUV will be launched at the “heavenly” plant of the joint venture Dongfeng and Nissan, while the “global” cross is made in the States.
Externally, the commercial Chinese five-door was in many ways the same as the show car. Although there are simplifications: in particular, on the stern, instead of a luminous inscription with the name of the model, there are chrome letters, and the rear lights are also different. It is also not yet known whether additional diode sections remain in the radiator grille. If we compare it with the global crossover, then the Nissan Pathfinder for China has a different grille and front bumper, plus it gets headlights of a more familiar shape.

The length of this SUV is 5130 mm, which is 109 mm longer than that of the “world” model. The width of the Chinese Pathfinder is 1981 mm (+2 mm compared to the American-made cross), the height, on the contrary, is trimmed by 34 mm to 1767 mm. The wheelbase of the cars is the same — 2900 mm.
We saw the interior in spy footage, it has its own multimedia system inside, and the central tunnel has also been redone. But the climate control control unit is almost the same as that of the global crossover (the concept had a different unit).
As expected, in China the Nissan Pathfinder will be offered with a 2.0 VC-Turbo petrol turbo-four with a variable compression ratio (factory index – KR20), the engine produces 252 hp. A similar engine is installed in the local sister Infiniti QX60. Front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The global SUV is equipped with a naturally aspirated V6 3.5 (288 hp in US specification).
