DONETSK, September 12 A fire on the territory of St. Ignatius Church occurred as a result of shelling of the Kuibyshevsky district of Donetsk by Ukrainian troops, a utility room caught fire, the mayor of the administrative center of the DPR Alexey Kulemzin in his Telegram channel.
«As a result of the shelling of the Kuibyshevsky district on Manezhny Prospekt, a fire occurred in a utility room located on the territory of St. Ignatievsky Church,» Kulemzin wrote.
The Church of St. Ignatius Brianchaninov in question is located within walking distance of the Donetsk airport, which was destroyed in the first year of the armed conflict in Donbass.
The DPR representation in the JCCC earlier on Tuesday reported nine shellings of the Kuibyshevsky district of Donetsk by Ukrainian troops, including the use of NATO 155-mm caliber cluster shells.
Kuibyshevsky district is located in the west of Donetsk.
