Russian speed skaters are quarantined before moving to Kazakhstan

MOSCOW, September 12 Executive Committee of the Russian Skating Union (SKR) established a two-year quarantine for athletes Elizaveta Golubeva and Kristina Silaeva to join the Kazakhstan national team, according to the official website of the TFR.
The decision to establish a two-year quarantine was made on Tuesday at a meeting of the executive committee of the Investigative Committee. Earlier, the executive director of the Kazakhstan Skating Union, Olzhas Besbaev, said that the President of the Skating Committee, Nikolai Gulyaev, approved the transfer of Golubeva, Silaeva and coach Sergei Klevchenya to the Kazakhstan national team.
“In connection with the appeal of the National Skating Federation of Kazakhstan about the transfer of athletes Golubeva and Silaeva, on the basis of the regulations on international transfers, the executive committee of the TFR made a unanimous decision to establish a quarantine for the athletes for 24 months,” the message says.
