In some other markets (previously the model was officially sold in Russia), this SUV was sold under the name Teramont. As Automotive News reports, citing its own sources, the German company is now already developing the next generation Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport. It is assumed that a pair of crossovers will appear in 2026, and from the publication of the publication it is not clear whether this is the date for the debut of new products or whether we are talking about their going on sale in the American market.

It is assumed that the next generation Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport, despite the widespread transition of automakers to electric traction, will continue to be equipped with internal combustion engines. It is worth noting that in the States, the VW brand so far sells only one electric car — we are talking about the ID.4 crossover, which will soon be accompanied by the ID minivan. The VW Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport of the 2024 model year were also equipped with modified head optics: the headlights became larger and received a different pattern. They are connected to each other by an LED strip that runs above the brand logo (in all versions except the basic one, the logo is backlit). The radiator grille has become larger and now its design is made in the form of “U-shaped” large cells. The air intakes at the bottom of the front bumper are also designed differently. The stern was refreshed due to adjusted lights and a modified rear bumper.

The SUV was also equipped with a 10.25-inch diagonal digital instrument panel. The list of basic equipment includes three-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, and a heated steering wheel.
