The Armed Forces of Ukraine are suffering huge losses against the background of the Northern Military District. RIA Novosti found out where Kiev will get the reinforcements needed for the counter-offensive operation.
In the former Soviet republic, those liable for military service aged 18-60 were banned from traveling abroad.
Previously, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky signed decree on checking the decisions of military medical examinations on the unfitness of those liable for military service.
The Ukrainian authorities have changed the criteria for fitness for military service. Now citizens with a huge list of diseases can be mobilized. The list includes clinically cured tuberculosis, viral hepatitis with minor dysfunction, asymptomatic human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), diseases of the endocrine system, mild mental, neurotic disorders, slowly progressive diseases of the central nervous system (CNS) and a number of other ailments.
In addition, Ukraine has reduced the health requirements for paratroopers and marines. Military commissariats will immediately make a decision on which military specialty can be mobilized for those with limited fitness.
It is also proposed to extradite Ukrainians who left the country amid mobilization (this requires a criminal case).
It is planned to add women to the ranks of the Ukrainian armed forces. Since October, all health workers are required to register for military service. We are also talking about those who study at higher educational institutions in relevant specialties.
