Porsche announced that it will present the new Panamera on November 24 this year in Dubai. Four hybrid versions, a more powerful electric motor and a more capacious battery are promised.
The current “second” Panamera has been produced since 2016; in 2020, the model underwent restyling. The third generation will, in fact, be a development of the second, that is, fundamental changes in the platform (MSB) and body are not expected, but the scale of the comprehensive modernization is such that, according to Porshce, it is drawn to a new generation. The next, “fourth” Panamera will be fully electric, it will see the light towards the end of the current decade, so the third generation will be the last “hydrocarbon”.
Now the “third” Panamera is undergoing final tests in different climatic and geographical conditions, public roads and specialized testing grounds will iron camouflaged pre-production cars, and the premiere will take place on November 24 as part of the Icons of Porsche festival in Dubai, which attracts many fans and clients of the German brand.< br />
The new generation features four plug-in hybrids instead of the current three; the added fourth version will become the most powerful in the range, the output of its power plant will significantly exceed 700 hp. and 870 Nm of the current top-end Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. All hybrid versions will receive a new, more powerful electric motor, fully integrated into the automatic transmission housing. The output of the new electric motor has not yet been revealed; in the second generation hybrid versions, the electric motor produces 136 hp. and 400 Nm. The capacity of the traction battery has been increased from the current 17.9 kWh to 25.9 kWh, which promises a significant increase in the electric range (currently it is no more than 54 km). The power of the on-board charger has been increased from 7.4 to 11 kW.

The ICE line will also be “fundamentally updated,” but no details yet. Active air suspension will be offered as an option for the first time, and adaptive shock absorbers will be included as standard equipment.
There is no information about innovations in the cabin yet, but we expect changes no less radical than those of the recently updated Porsche Cayenne, that is, the instrument panel will become completely virtual, the capabilities of the multimedia system will expand
The choice of bodies will most likely remain: a liftback with a standard or extended wheelbase and a station wagon. Prices will probably increase with the change of generations; now the simplest Panamera with a 330-horsepower V6 engine costs in Germany from 98,022 euros.
We add that now the Porsche Panamera and the electric Porsche Taycan are in approximately the same demand: from January to June of this year, according to the company itself, 17,565 and 17,991 units were sold worldwide. respectively. In its fifth generation, the Panamera will grow in size and become more luxurious to move away from direct competition with the Taycan.
