NIZHNY NOVGOROD, September 15 Ten people, including 6 children, were hospitalized after visiting the Sushistik cafe in Kanash in Chuvashia, the Rospotrebnadzor department for the republic reported .
«The Office of Rospotrebnadzor in the Chuvash Republic is conducting an epidemiological investigation into the registration of acute intestinal infection in 10 people, including 6 children. All sick people visited the Sushistik public catering facility (Kanash city). Subsequently, they were hospitalized with symptoms of acute intestinal infection to the infectious diseases department of the district hospital,” the message says.
It is noted that the infectious focus has been localized, samples of food, water and swabs from surfaces have been taken.
«The staff of the catering facility were examined for bacterial and viral pathogens of intestinal infections. Laboratory research and anti-epidemic measures continue. The activities of the catering unit have been suspended,» the message emphasizes.
As the department’s press service notes, no new cases of the disease have been registered.
Checks into the mass poisoning have been launched by the investigative department of the RF Investigative Committee for Chuvashia and the republic’s prosecutor’s office, the department’s press services report.
