MOSCOW, September 14 The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation is exploring the possibility of purchasing and leasing domestic Lada Aura in 2024 for transport needs, the press service of the ministry told reporters.
“»This issue is already in the works — when planning transport services (purchase or rental of cars) for the next year, the responsible departments of the Ministry of Industry and Trade have already been tasked with taking into account the capabilities of AvtoVAZ to supply Lada Aura cars,» the ministry reported .
As the Ministry of Industry and Trade recalled, production of the new product is planned by AvtoVAZ for the second half of 2024.
The Lara Aura model is based on the Lada Vesta. The new product is distinguished by an increased interior space for rear row passengers by 25 cm; its interior is made of Russian-made genuine leather. The car is equipped with a 1.8 liter engine producing 122 horsepower and an automatic transmission. According to AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov, the cost of the new product will be more than 2 million rubles.
Previously, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the transfer of officials to domestic cars. Lada Aura is precisely positioned by AvtoVAZ as a car for government employees.
