SIMFEROPOL, September 15. Ukrainian troops struck a residential area of the city of Novaya Kakhovka in the Kherson region, the city administration reported on the telegram channel.
““Emergency rescue services are working on the spot,” local authorities clarified.
The strike was carried out about 9:50 Moscow time. There is no light in one of the houses.
“At least four apartment buildings and a school nearby are damaged,” the head of the Novokakhovsky urban district, Vladimir Leontyev, said in a conversation with Vladimir Leontyev.
The Ukrainian military regularly shells Novaya Kakhovka. So, on Wednesday the Ukrainian Armed Forces damaged a gas pipeline. Two days earlier, the Ukrainian military launched a massive attack on the city, disrupting the power supply. During the shelling, shells also landed on the territory of the city water canal and the ambulance station.
The Kherson region became part of Russia following the results of a referendum held in September 2022. At the same time, the Ukrainian side does not recognize its legitimacy and continues to shell the territory of the region.
Today, 75% of the territory of the Kherson region is under Russian control, and part of the right bank of the Dnieper, including Kherson, is held by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
